The expansion of one of the UK's biggest park home sites hit a milestone on 22nd March 2024, as Deputy Mayor Councillor Jenny Penfold of Bracknell Forest ceremonially broke ground with a spade.

Named The Paddocks, this new development spans 10 acres and will host 63 homes to the east of the existing Warfield Park. Phase 1 is on track for completion in the upcoming months, with the initial homes ready for occupation by this summer.

Adding to the appeal, the project includes carving out a generous 26-acre green area for public enjoyment.

Expressing her enthusiasm, Cllr Jenny Penfold highlighted the importance of this project in addressing Bracknell's housing needs across different age groups and family sizes. She also praised the strong sense of community at Warfield Park, suggesting it as an example for other developers.

James Sumner, the executive director of Warfield Park, echoed the sentiment, expressing gratitude for the deputy mayor's support. He noted the growing popularity of park homes, particularly among older generations, and anticipated high demand for the new units.

Sumner also detailed plans to enrich the park with a substantial open space, almost tripling the size of the new development. This green area will feature pathways, habitat enhancements for wildlife, ornamental and native plantings, and improvements to wetland habitats.

Warfield Park, sprawled across 90 acres of picturesque parkland, stands as one of the largest parks of its kind in the UK, boasting over 530 park homes. Among these, more than 470 are privately owned, with over 67 available for rent. Nationwide, there are approximately 92,000 existing park homes spread across roughly 2,000 licensed sites.
