Whittingham is situated in the heart of picturesque rural Northumberland, near equidistant between Newcastle and The Scottish Border at Coldstream which are approximately 35 miles.

The main local centre is Alnwick, within 9 miles. Alnwick is a stunning and historic market town which is the home to and family seat of the Duke of Northumberland at Alnwick Castle, as well as the acclaimed Alnwick Gardens. Within 13 miles of Whittingham there is access to the Coast and Castles route which features unspoilt coastline, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty as well as numerous English Heritage sites and the UNESCO world heritage site of Bamburgh Castle. Closer at hand, on the doorstep, are limitless countryside walks within Thrunton and Callaly Woods. The same is true further afield in the Northumberland National Park and Cheviot Hills, access to which is within three miles. Whittingham is also on the National Cycle Route.

We are also on the fringe of the Northumberland International Dark Sky  Park and our homes will enjoy stunning night skies, stars, meteors and satellite movements.

What interests you? Whether walking, wildlife, water sports, field sports, or just relaxing in stunning yet accessible surroundings, Whittingham and wider Northumberland provide the perfect setting for a rich and peaceful lifestyle or holiday/second home.
